Mario Testino at Mary Boone Gallery

Mario Testino at Mary Boone Gallery

In 1998, Mary Boone Gallery in New York mounted an exhibition of Mario Testino’s early editorial and personal work. Photographed mostly between 1988-1998, this was the first time that Mario’s photographs were seen and considered within a gallery setting, curated by Neville Wakefield.

The Exhibition

Testino has created advertising campaigns for high profile clients such as Gucci, Versace, Gap and Burberry and has worked on editorial shoots all over the world. Portraits brought together this commercial work alongside his studies of the stars from the worlds of fashion, cinema, royalty and music and includes Kate Moss, John Galliano, Gwyneth Paltrow, Diana, Princess of Wales, Robbie Williams and Madonna.
