Six years after Christiane Arp first invited Testino to guest edit German Vogue, he was asked back by Arp to work on a second special issue for March 2014. In a Marilyn Monroe/Madonna inspired shoot, Testino again chose a blonde for the cover, this time in the notorious form of pop icon Miley Cyrus. Dedicated to the theme Blonde, the issue includes powerful blondes from singer Sky Ferreira, as well as models Anja Rubik, Esmeralda Seay Reynolds, Candice Swanepoel and Edita Vilkeviciute.

Testino has been invited to creative direct and photograph numerous special editions of Vogue magazine to date. Testino works closely with the respective editors of each title to develop a theme that will dictate everything inside the issue. With the support of his team at MARIOTESTINO+, he conceives a bespoke treatment to the art direction, applying conceptual typography and a unique layout appropriate to each theme. Themes have included Sex, The Body, Blondes and Obsession.
